A New Jersey doctor's bedside manner went too far when he lifted an
unconscious patient's gown and put a removable tattoo below her waist, a
lawsuit charges.

Elizabeth Mateo, 36, said she was getting dressed to go home after back
surgery in April when she and her husband noticed a red rose near her
genitalia.

Mateo's lawyer said the emotional imprint is much more permanent. She is
suing her doctor for invasion of privacy.

"It's pretty upsetting," said Gregg Shivers, Mateo's lawyer.

The surgeon, Steven Kirshner, admits he rubbed the removable tattoo on
Mateo's torso, but said he did it to make her feel better.

scalpel on a female patient's lower abdomen. I think that all this anti
